Recent News Sendmail 8.13.8 is available (2006-08-09); It fixes some problems introduced in 8.13.7, as well as some other bugs. Sendmail 8.13.7 is available (2006-06-14); it contains a fix for a potential denial of service problem caused by excessive recursion which leads to stack exhaustion when attempting delivery of a malformed MIME message. If you cannot upgrade to 8.13.7, then you can apply a patch (PGP signature) to 8.13.6, or a patch (PGP signature) for 8.12.11. For those not running the open source version, check with your vendor for a patch. If you use the commercial version from Sendmail, Inc. then please see their advisory. (2006-06-14) An Errata section has been added (last update: 2006-06-15). As of 2006-05-20, Sendmail X has the same license as sendmail 8. This affects releases on or after that date, e.g., X-0.1.Beta2.0 Sendmail 8.13.6 is available (2006-03-22); it contains a fix for a security problem discovered by Mark Dowd of ISS X-Force. Sendmail urges all users of sendmail 8 to upgrade to sendmail 8.13.6. Notes: This affects every sendmail 8 version before 8.13.6. At least one party is actively working on developing a public exploit. Please upgrade as soon as possible. (2006-03-24) An Errata section has been added. (2006-03-28, last update: 2006-04-11) If you cannot upgrade to 8.13.6, then you can apply a patch (PGP signature) to 8.13.5, or a patch (PGP signature) for 8.12.11. Note: the e-mail addresses for sendmail support have been changed (2005-09-16). Please use the new addresses and follow the requirements for sending e-mails. If you are subscribed to sendmail-announce but you did not receive the announcement about a recent release, then you should check your email address which you used to subscribe to sendmail-announce, your MTA configuration to see whether that address actually works, your anti-spam configuration to see whether mail from sendmail.org is not rejected. IMPORTANT NOTICE: If you download the sendmail distribution you MUST verify the PGP signature. Do NOT use sendmail without verifying the integrity of the source code.
